## Cautions when painting wood

- **Maxzo Rust Tech** is formulated first for rust prevention on metal. Its wood compatibility on
  the label is limited to plywood/siding/composite wood — not solid wood. The rigid rust-inhibitive
  film is not designed to flex with wood's moisture-driven expansion/contraction, so it may be more
  prone to cracking along the grain on solid wood over time. Test on a small area first.
- **JBP Smart Glaze Ultra Gloss Enamel** is a topcoat only — bare wood should get a wood primer/
  sealer coat first, otherwise the oil-based enamel absorbs unevenly into porous wood (knots, end
  grain), producing a patchy sheen and wasting material.
- **Drying times matter for scheduling.** JBP Ultra Gloss: touch-dry in 30 min–4 hr, recoat window
  4–8 hr, full/hard cure 48 hr+. Don't load or stack painted pieces before full cure, and protect
  the work from dust, insects, and rain throughout the cure period. Recoating outside the 4–8 hr
  window (i.e., after the film has hardened too much) needs a light sanding pass first for proper
