NaoDec Build — Step 7: Edge Covers

Purpose
Fit the 25 external edge covers over the 25 lettered joints, closing out the structure's outside seams. The 5 ground-resting edges get no cover.

7.1 Fit the covers
- Fit each cover over the outside of its lettered joint — the LED strips run on the inside (Step 4), so covers and strips are on opposite faces of the edge.
- Each cover must clear the 2 hinges on that joint and any speaker/bracket hardware (joint M) — profile has to bridge or notch around them (Open Item #1).
- Work bottom-up so offcuts/tools don't fall onto finished lower work; leave the 5 top joints (U, V, X, Y, Z) for last — overhead work.
- Door joints A, B, K, L: fit so the door still opens per the Step 2 mechanism decision — a cover spanning the door's hinge line or latch side can lock it shut (Open Item #3).
The covers hide the assembly letters. Since the marking system exists for teardown/re-assembly, record each cover's joint letter on the cover itself (inside face) or keep a teardown map, so letters stay findable later (Open Item #2).
Safety
- Overhead work for the top joints — positive fastening, nothing relying on friction over the occupant.
- Ladder work inside/outside the closed structure; the chair and equipment are now in place (Step 6), so protect them below the work.

Open Items
- Cover material / profile / fixing method — screwed, clipped, magnetic, snap-fit? Must span/notch the 2 hinges (+ speaker on M). TBD.
- Removability for teardown — covers + hinges must come apart for repeat assembly (index Open Item #5); letters stay findable.
- Door-edge covers vs. door swing — depends on the door mechanism (Step 2 Open Item #1).
- Function of the covers — purely cosmetic edge trim, or do they also seal the fabric edges against light leak / weather? Not stated; affects material choice.
